Steve Demme
Founder, Math-U-See

Steve Demme Bio

Steve and his wife Sandra have been married for over 29 years. They have been blessed four boys: Isaac, 28; Ethan, 26; Joseph, 23, and Johnny, 20. With God’s help, they have all been home educated.

As a former math teacher who has taught at all levels of math in public, private, and Christian schools, Steve is also the author and founder of Math-U-See. He has served in full and part time pastoral ministry for many years after graduating from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Currently, he serves on the board of directors for Christian Freedom International, an organization whose mission is to help Christians who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. He is also on the board for “Joni and Friends” in the Eastern Pennsylvania area.

Steve addresses a variety of topics at homeschool conferences to encourage parents in their God-given responsibilities of raising and training their children for His glory. His desire is to understand God’s word and practice it, beginning in the home, and to strengthen, teach, encourage, validate, and exhort parents and families to follow the biblical model for the Christian home.

Steve will be speaking on the following topics at the August 9th conference:

The Family That Stays Together, Stays Together-Steve relates how his family has been helped to maintain the integrity of their family as a unique, God-ordained institution. He teaches how to recognize and understand personality types, learning styles, and spiritual gifts, and how to accommodate and value the resultant blends. He shares good family read-aloud books, sports ideas, games to play together, work and chore ideas, and field trip suggestions.

Wise Fathers and Wise Sons-Proverbs says that a wise son makes a glad father. And we know that a wise father can aid in making a glad son. As the father of 4 young men, Steve shares his own experiences as a son and now as a father in how to be a wise father and gives insights into how to raise wise sons. Also included are stories of famous sons and their faithful fathers, from David & Solomon to Ken Ham & his Dad.

The Great Commission and Home Education-Using Ephesians as a model, Steve shows how home education plays a unique and essential role in fulfilling the great commission and establishing God’s Kingdom. With plenty of practical tips and personal experiences, Steve helps us see the big picture and how we fit into it.

Pride and Expectations-This workshop is Steve’s testimony of the last fifteen years as the father of a Down’s Syndrome child. He shares what his family has learned as a result of Johnny’s physical problems, unique development, and the special, rewarding, and joyful role he has played in their lives.
