La Vista Homeschool Group
Tuesdays: Tuesdays, 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Location: Approximately 84th & Giles.
You do not have to live in La Vista to be part of the group.
During the winter months, we have access to a large indoor
gym and during nicer weather we meet at area parks. It is
unstructured “free play” time for the kids where
they can make new friends and run off energy! Some field
trips/activities may be scheduled throughout the year.
If you would like more information, please contact Heather
Ferguson at fergy6@q.com
or call (402)991-3514. There is a size restriction on the
number of children we can have in the gym, so new members
will be allowed to join on a first-come basis. There is
no cost for joining. Call now!
What Book Got You Hooked?
Dear constituents & Nebraskans,
I hope you might take a moment to support a good cause
for our Cornhusker State. It costs nothing other than a
minute of time.
A group I am associated with, Read Aloud Nebraska, is again
helping to coordinate statewide involvement in the "What
Book Got You Hooked?" campaign offered by the First
Book National Book Bank. The campaign asks individuals to
vote for the book that got them "hooked" on reading
as a child. 50,000 FREE, NEW CHILDREN'S BOOKS will be sent
to the state casting the most votes during the campaign
which ends September 15.
Nebraska finished a close second to Oklahoma in last year's
"What Book Got You Hooked?" campaign - narrowly
missing out on these books for our children. With your help,
we can see that Nebraska children benefit from our efforts
this year.
To participate, individuals need only log on to the "What
Book Got You Hooked?" website at http://www2.firstbook.org/whatbook/,
indicate your favorite book and cast a vote for Nebraska.
You may vote as often as you wish.
Please consider forwarding this message to friends who
might be interested in helping with this cause.
Thank you for your time,
Tony Fulton

informing them of timely events and news in the homeschooling
community. The E-tree is primarily reserved for:

newsletter prior to the deadline (the 10th of the
month)
Legislative items which affect homeschoolers
Prayer requests
Other important news and events that are specifically
of interest to homeschoolers
Advertising a business is not permitted
on the E-tree, although information regarding one-time
events which pertain to homeschooling will be submitted.
Information does not meet the above criteria for the
E-tree, or which is not time-sensitive, will not be
published on the HEN E-tree and can be submitted to
the HEN newsletter (newsletter@omahahen.org).
E-tree submissions should contain a brief summary
of the event or news and should also include contact
information should readers desire further information. |
