The Omaha Homeschool Learning Center is offering summer classes in drama, writing, and tae kwon do at 64h and Maple.

SHAKESPEARE (ages 13-18
We put the shake in Shakespeare! Students engage in stage combat, learn Elizabethan language, perform scenes, study a specific play, and attend a Shakespeare on the Green production.
Dates: July 1-3, Tuesday through Thursday; evening performance at Shakespeare on the Green
Time: 1:00-2:30pm
Cost: $50
Instructor: Jack Donnelly

YOUNG ACTORS (ages 6-9)
Put a splash of drama in your summer! Drama games and Christian skits give your child a fun, interactive way to develop vocal and dramatic skills. Performance for families on Thursday.
Dates: July 7-10, Monday through Thursday
Time: 1:00 to 2:00pm
Cost: $50
Instructor: Jack Donnelly

THE WRITERS' WORKSHOP (ages 9-18) is a structured approach to help students acquire and improve writing skills, preparing them for writing at the high school and college level. Given specific assignments, students will apply effective techniques in word choice, sentence fluency, grammar, topic sentences, paragraph development, and organization.
Dates: Thursdays, starting July 10 and ending August 28
Time: 2:30-3:15pm
Cost: $80
Instructor: Jack Donnelly

WRITING GROUPS (ages 9-18) meet once a week to share their writings and enjoy each other's company. A real audience motivates students to write by providing a fun environment and peer feedback. The instructor provides additional personalized comments to direct student growth in needed areas. Otherwise reluctant students have become excited to come share their work in a fun social setting.
Dates: Thursdays, starting July 10 and ending August 28
Time: 3:15 to 4pm
Cost: $80
Instructor: Jack Donnelly

PILGRIM TALES (ages 9-12 and 13-18)
Toss out the Gameboy and unplug the DVD player! Students will learn the lost art of travel entertainment in this fascinating workshop that will inspire students to create a tale for their own pilgrimage. While practicing the elements of a great story, we'll even sneak in some Chaucer and medieval history, culminating in a pilgrimage to the Holy Family shrine, during which students will spin their stories and have a picnic.
Dates: August 19-22, Tuesday through Friday
Time: 10:30-11:30am
Cost: $50
Instructor: Jack Donnelly

TAE KWON DO (all ages), led by Master Hall, will meet at 2pm (Beginners) and 3pm (Advanced), beginning in June. Tae Kwon Do teaches self-confidence, self-discipline, courtesy, integrity, healthy lifestyle, weight control, obedience to parents, good reading and study habits, and self-defense. Former students may continue their work; new students are welcome. A great deal: 12 weeks of classes for $80, starting May 4—but sign up anytime!
