Holocaust and WWII Speakers

We have been given a rare opportunity…

two elderly women, ages 84 and 78, will share their life stories.

However, their stories are not ordinary…

One woman, Rachel, survived Auschwitz.

One woman, Wilma, survived Nazi Germany.

Please come and experience an unforgettable and impressionable afternoon.

When: Monday, June 2, 2008

2:00 TO 3:30 PM

Where: Calvary Chapel

508 W. 24th Ave.

Olde Towne Bellevue

24th and Madison

The students will be divided in to two groups and will spend 45 minutes with each speaker to hear age-appropriate testimony of these precious women’s lives.

Your lives will not be the same after hearing their stories.

Please email with any questions.

Thank you.

Pep Band Camp 2008

I am directing a pep band camp this summer (July 28- Aug 1st),and want to invite home school students to participate.

Students would also be able to play with the OCA pep band at home football and basketball games - though this is not required - only an opportunity offered.

Leadership Conference for Girls

We are looking for girls who would like to help plan the 2008 Young Women’s Leadership Conference. This conference is typically held in the fall and is planned by and for girls in grades 10-12.

If you would like to recommend a few girls from your school to be on the planning committee, please forward their names and contact information or you can give them my contact information.

Our first planning meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 27th at 4:00, here at our council office. Planning meetings are held monthly (usually the last Tuesday of the month at 4:00 but the committee will decide this) and girls help decide everything-from the conference theme to deciding on speakers and workshop topics, to picking the food. (click here to check out last year’s conference website).

Counselors are invited to be members of the planning committee also, so let me know if you would be interested in that. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Homeschool Flag Football

***Attention Homeschool Flag Football Players***

Fast Forward, in an effort to support homeschooling, is offering a summer football conditioning program for homeschool flag football players in preparation for the fall season.

Two summer sessions, one in June and one in July, will be offered. Each session will be three times a week for 4 weeks, for a total of 12 one and a half hour long conditioning classes. The home school program is being offered at a reduced rate of $60.00 per session. Payment will be accepted at the first class of each session.

Sessions will begin the week of June 2nd, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 - 2:30 pm.

Sport conditioning not only prepares
the player for the sport, but also helps to decrease the rate of injuries and promote a lifestyle of physical fitness.

Please notify Daryl Kucera (owner of Fast Forward)
630-1757 to reserve a spot.
